As an image-maker Jack Symes looks for inspiration in the everyday, trying to extract beauty from the mundane moments.

What is depicted is a series of images that appear to show metallic car parts emblazoned with marks, scratches and dents. On a surface level this project looks at our collective understanding of photography and asks the viewer to abstract what they know, reimagining its purpose and existence. These images ask the viewer to see them as paintings, abstract paintings to be more precise.
